Collins vs. Oasis
(Thorsten, 2005/07/29, 08:43 Uhr) Phil Collins has hit back at Oasis, three months after Noel Gallagher called him the "anti-Christ".
The former Genesis drummer and solo star is set to appear on an upcoming episode of UK TV show "Room 101", in which he will consign the Gallagher brothers to the cultural dustbin.
And Collins has denied Noel's claims in May that he was planning on returning to the UK from his Switzerland home had the Conservative party won the General Election in May.
At the time, Noel said the public had to vote Labour in the election, explaining: "If the Tories (Conservatives) get in, Phil Collins is threatening to come back and live here."
In the run-up to the show, Collins denied he votes Tory and said: "Noel calls me the anti-Christ. It frustrates me but who cares?
"I'm so flattered the Gallaghers have spent a lot of time thinking about me. I've repaid the compliment. I've just done the TV show Room 101 and they're both in it."

Liam Gallagher to marry Appleton
(Thorsten, 2005/07/22, 10:00 Uhr) Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher will marry his long-term girlfriend Nicole Appleton later this year.
The Wonderwall singer and his former All Saint partner already have a child together - four-year-old Gene - and they plan to wed in a low-key ceremony in Scotland.
A friend of the couple tells British newspaper the Daily Star: "Liam and Nicole want to lie low when it comes to their big day, they really hate fuss and attention."
The happy couple have already chosen a manor house in Linlithgow as the location for their special day: "It is magical and they fell in love with it as soon as they saw it. The property is set in three acres of garden and they're ordering a bright red marquee for the occasion.
There will also be a red and gold theme throughout the day and the guests will be asked to wear either of the colours. Fire-eaters have been booked and there will be a bouncy castle for the kids.
Gallagher and Appleton are planning a small ceremony with only family and close friends on the guest list - and they plan to spend their honeymoon in the picturesque town.

Liam Gallagher insisted Rhys Ifans danced on Oasis video
(Thorsten, 2005/07/18, 09:57 Uhr) GALLAGHER CHOSE TALENTED DANCER IFANS FOR OASIS VIDEO
LIAM GALLAGHER was determined to enlist the talents of RHYS IFANS for the promo video of OASIS track THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING IDLE - because the Welsh actor's dancing had always impressed him.
Singer Gallagher persuaded his guitarist brother NOEL to let NOTTING HILL star Ifans play a comedy undertaker in the black and white, 1960s themed video.
He says, "I asked Rhys to do it, Noel was going to ask some other f**king idiot."
I said, 'Nah man, Rhys is one of the boys, you know what I mean?' He's quite a dancer. He's top man.
"The video is basically him, I'm forever in his debt for it."
"I just wanted to do something that complemented the song, the song's a bit weird. So we thought that was the song to dress up like a f**king idiot."

SKY SPORTS TEAM UP WITH OASIS
Sky Sports have collaborated with Oasis on the title track for the 2005-2006 season promotional campaign.
'The Meaning of Soul', written by Liam Gallagher and taken from the No 1 album 'Don't Believe the Truth', will provide the backing for Sky Sports' promotional campaign for the 2005-2006 football season.
The promo was filmed during Oasis's current sell-out tour of the UK. The eventual 30-second promo will be a mixture of the band's performance of the track and footage from Sky Sports' award winning football coverage.
The promo was directed by Ian Duke and John Grint and produced by Nick Canham from Sky's in-house promotions team. It's due to be premiered on 13th July.
Since the launch of the FA Premier league in 1992 the annual promotional campaign has been a major feature of the build-up to the football season. In August 2003 'Are you Ready' by Elton John became the first No1 record associated with Sky Sports. Previously, Simple Minds' Alive & Kicking kicked off the inaugural season in 1992 and in 1995 'One Vision' by Queen heralded the new season. Last season Rachel Stevens' cover version of 'More, More, More' reached No 4 in the charts after exposure during the pre-season campaign.

Babyshambles cancel Oasis support
(Thorsten, 2005/07/08, 14:39 Uhr) Rock band Babyshambles were forced to cancel a support slot with Oasis on Wednesday because singer Pete Doherty was unable to get back from France.
The group were due to play at Southampton's Rose Bowl and pulled out just hours before they were due to go on stage.
A spokesman for the band confirmed Doherty could not get transport from France in time for the concert.
The singer was in Paris celebrating the birthday of a French fashion designer.
'Dazed'
Babyshambles' spokesman said their next support slot with Oasis on Saturday would go ahead as planned in Milton Keynes.
Doherty, formerly with the Libertines, performed at the Live 8 concert in London's Hyde Park last Saturday alongside Sir Elton John.
The BBC's Ian Youngs, who saw Doherty's performance, remarked on the singer's "gothic get-up" and "dazed" look.
Doherty's new band Babyshambles have been touring extensively over the past year, and are planning to release their debut album in the autumn.
They are also set to tour widely throughout the summer, including appearances at the Leeds at Reading festivals.

Liam vs Noel vs Chris Martin
(Thorsten, 2005/07/07, 20:23 Uhr) Bigmouth strikes again!

Coldplay avoid clash with Oasis
(Thorsten, 2005/07/06, 15:20 Uhr) Coldplay have reportedly changed the release date of upcoming single Fix You to avoid direct competition with Oasis' The Importance of Being Idle.
A source told the Star: "Coldplay have moved Fix You back to a September release because their current single Speed of Sound is still getting such great airplay on the radio.
"I'm sure they are aware that Oasis were due to release on the same day, but that probably didn't affect their decision."
Another interpretation is that it is to avoid a clash such as that between Oasis and Blur in 1995 with Roll With It and Country House respectively.

Oasis become comedians at Manchester homecoming
(Thorsten, 2005/07/03, 15:10 Uhr) OASIS were left to entertain the crowd for 25 minutes after a barrier broke at the beginning of their show in MANCHESTER last night.
The band stopped playing halfway through 'Turn Up The Sun' and guitarist Noel Gallagher announced to the crowd at the City of Manchester Stadium: "Alright look I've been told the barrier at the front has broken down so if everyone can just take one or two steps back we'll start playing again. Otherwise we can't go on with the show. If anybody does get injured though make sure they get a fucking t-shirt on the way out."
Frontman Liam Gallagher, who was dressed in a red leather jacket and a white cricket hat, then joked: "I bet you don't get this at Live 8," before the band were left standing on stage for the next 25 minutes while organisers fixed the problem.
During that time Noel kept the audience amused by telling jokes and by urging the fans to sing: "Who the fuck are Man Utd?"
Liam eventually butted in and shouted: "Let's just get somebody in the crowd to get their tits out," and for the next 10 minutes, constant cheers could be heard ringing around the ground as several girls beared their breasts on camera for the first time since Oasis's 'Standing On The Shoulder of Giants tour back in 2000.
"Can you imagine what the people outside must be thinking with all this cheering going on and no music? They must be wondering what the fuck is going on," joked Noel before he went on to say: "You wouldn't get this at a Coldplay gig would you?"
When the band were given the all clear, they kicked off their set with 'Turn Up The Sun for the second time and went on to play several tracks off their new album 'Don't Believe The Truth' including hit single 'Lyla', 'The Importance Of Being Idle' and 'Guess God Thinks I'm Abel'.
During the 90 minute concert they performed a similar set to their previous two shows but delighted an ecstatic crowd who sang back every word to classic hit singles 'Wonderwall', 'Live Forever', 'Don't Look Back In Anger' and b-side 'Acquiesce', which got its first outing on the tour.
Earlier in the day footage of the historic Live 8 event was screened in the stadium and members of Oasis were spotted hanging around outside the executive suite behind the stage.
Support came from The Redwalls, The Bees, 22-20s and The Coral.
